Permanent filters just need washing under the tap (Although don't put ground down the sink - they can be composted or put in the domestic waste).
If you're a coffee purist you'll know that only a pump expresso can make proper crema - coffee infused frothy hot milk - the pump machines are uisually more expensive but comet's prices are always good as they price watch and match.
